08:00 Departure from Belgium by bus. On board we make it as comfortable as possible: a catered breakfast and some newspapers.
Upon arrival in Den Oever, we will go shrimp fishing.
Arrival with coffee on board. Tour by the fishing port from Den Oever with explanations of the sights and fishing vessels.
When we get outside the harbor it becomes just turned off, which will be explained to guests.
After about half an hour, the net is raised and the catch is distributed on the deck. Some of the shrimp is sifted. By now we have arrived at the seals. From a short distance we can get a good look at them.
During the return trip, some of the large shrimps on board boiled. Shrimp are peeled and tasted.
Our next stop: The Afsluitdijk Wadden Center
This visitor center is located on the Afsluitdijk in the Netherlands. The Afsluitdijk is a iconic dam which separates the IJsselmeer from the Wadden Sea and plays an important role in protecting the Netherlands from flooding.
Before our visit lunch we on the ground.
Afterwards, we drive on to The Market hotel in Groningen where we are staying for 2 nights.
